Hi, this week Dog Blog is about my other dog, Dolly, the Weimeraner.
Originally bred to hunt bears in Germany, the Weimeraner is known as the Silver Ghost due to their beautiful, grey/blue coats.
Dolly loves nothing more than a run on the fields with Boo and a splash in the river or lake nearby. She is very protective towards us, Boo and small children and was an amazing auntie to Boo’s litter of puppies a couple of years ago.
Although by our side most of the time, and very needy, she’s not a fan of kisses and will contort her neck to extremes to avoid one. Occasionally, we will be graced with a quick kiss – but only if we’ve saved her a drop of tea. Apart from chewing the arm off our settee when she was a puppy (which I’m sure she’s really embarrassed about because she covers it over with a throw) she has been a wonderfully behaved girl and is one of my favourite muses to paint.
