This week, it’s all about the good old British Bulldog. Typically stubborn, and as the name suggests, they were originally bred to fight bulls – a ‘sport’ which thankfully was banned in the 1800s.
Our occasional houseguest, Ralph, is a wonderful example of his breed; both stubborn and like a bull in a china shop. If there’s an open door, he’ll be the first through, headbutting his way past any obstacle – usually our shins. And if there’s a muddy puddle to find, Ralph will be the one to find it.
However, a friendlier dog you could never meet. Happy to play with dogs, children and adults alike, Ralph’s sweet nature and devilish good looks endear him to everyone he bumps into ... literally.
The colours I used to paint Ralph were:-
